In addition to the new HST/PST housing transitional rules the government has now issued a tax credit for up to $10,000 for first time home buyers that are purchasing new construction over the next year AND a $1,000 home renovation tax credit for seniors to help reduce the costs of structural changes such as hand rails, ramps or walk-in bathtubs.
